Getting to and around Saint Martin
Airports
Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM) is the main airport on the Caribbean island of Saint Martin. On the French side of the Island is the Saint Martin's second airport, Grand Case-Espérance Airport (SFG). This second airport mainly services regional passengers flying to Guadeloupe and Saint Barth, as well as private aircraft.
Taxis
Taxis are readily available at the Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM) and cruise ship facility. Although unmetered, taxis on Saint Martin must follow official taxi travel rates. It's worth noting that Uber and other rideshare companies do not currently operate on the island.
Buses
St. Martin offers a reliable and frequent bus service, for a an inexpensive way to get around the island.
Driving
There is one principal road around Saint Martin, with secondary roads leading into residential areas. Many of the main roads are narrow, making traffic jams common. Cars drive on the right-hand side. One important traffic rule to note is that traffic coming from the right has the right-of-way. Either a French or International Driver's License is sufficient to drive on Saint Martin.
