Getting out of Orlando for day trips
You can enjoy a bit of the history of rail travel at Orlando's iconic 1920’s Amtrak station with its Mission Revival style architecture. For a day trip out of the city you can ride the train all the way south through West Palm Beach and along the coast to Miami in approximately 3 hours.
Best time to visit Orlando
Families looking to head to Orlando during the school holidays will be happy to hear that these are some of the best months to visit! With its exuberant celebration of the seasons, exciting festivals and decorations, and renowned good weather, Orlando comes alive in the spring, summer, October, late autumn and Christmas-time.
January to April are mild and pleasant, whilst temperatures begin to heat up from May, with some short rain showers in June followed by climbing peak temperatures in July (a month also known for rainfall), soaring to the hot peak heat of August. Packing the sun lotion and hats will certainly help! Unsurprisingly Orlando Florida can experience high levels of humidity, particularly in August (when average levels are at 79%), so light breathable layers are advisable. September and October promise plenty of warm weather and sunshine, alongside cheaper out-of-season rates.
