La Villa nell'Isola Verde (The Villa on the Green Island) is located on a hilltop completely surrounded by six hectares of olive trees, fruit trees and herbs, with a wonderful view of the castle town of Lari, a medieval strategic point on the road between Pisa and Volterra. Hints as to the origin of the villa can be found in history books: in 1000AD this land was the herbal and aromatic garden for the nearby stately home of the Upezzinghi, an important family of Pisan feudal nobility, who were long term rivals of the Medici family. La Villa nell'Isola Verde, which covers an area of about 315 sq m, has been recently renovated, blending typical Tuscan style with internal nordic elements and ethnic touches from Asia and Africa, reflecting the deep bond of the owners with Tuscany and their experiences and roots in other parts of the world. The villa is located on the Pisan Hills Wine Route and the local area is famous for cherries, the annual cherry festival and traditional pasta. The isolated tranquility of this property is ideal for a relaxing holiday in the picturesque Tuscan countryside enjoying the views, nearby hot springs and waterfalls or activities such as biking, horse riding or walking. It is also ideal for those wishing to visit the beautiful attractions of the region; as this is an excellent starting point for art lovers visiting cities such as Pisa, Lucca and Florence or taking at it easy at the seaside in beach areas such as Castiglioncello, San Vicenzo and Baratti.
