Sorrento is praised for its beautiful coastline, and it is also believed to be the place where Odysseus was lured by mermaids: in Punta Campanella, you can still see the remains of the Temple of Athena which, according to legend, was built by Odysseus to thank the Goddess after having passed unharmed through a stretch of Siren-infested sea, himself tied to the mast of his ship while his companions' ears were plugged with wax. Located in the old city center of the lively Sorrento, Villa Giada is set in a very quiet and private area, and yet only a 3-minute walk from the main square. A few steps from the villa, there is a lovely public garden where guests can stroll and enjoy fabulous sea views up and down the famous coast. The two-story villa is ideal for guests who prefer to not use a car while on vacation; in fact, thanks to the villa being so close to both the train station and the ferry dock, guests can explore the sights by using public transportation or by hiring a driver for the day.
