The nightlife in Koh Samui is known as being some of the best in Thailand, if not the world. Koh Samui’s full moon parties attract visitors from across the globe, and its party capital Chaweng is jam-packed with beer bars, discos, nightclubs, and parties. The nightlife isn’t all about bar crawls though. Alongside the cheap beer and shot girls are gourmet restaurants, refined cocktail lounges, traditional Thai dance shows, nighttime markets, colourful cabarets, and Thai boxing matches.
While restaurants and bars can be found at all of the island’s main beach resort areas, it is Chaweng, and, to a slightly lesser extent, Lamai, where the parties go on all through the night. The nightlife in other areas is largely limited to restaurants and a handful of quiet local bars where you can relax without all the hustle and bustle.
