The best hospital is the internationally accredited Bangkok Hospital Samui in Bophut. This private facility offers a wide range of services and has a good number of English-speaking doctors. The hospital is rated as a 5-star healthcare facility, however, it is also one of the most expensive hospitals in Koh Samui.
Also located in Bophut, the Bandon International Private Hospital offers a 24-hour accident and emergency center, as well as a house-call service, a dental clinic and cosmetic surgery services. The cost of treatment at the Bandon Hospital is generally cheaper than at most of the other private hospitals in Koh Samui, and this hospital is popular for travellers having plastic surgery.
The Samui International Hospital is one of the island’s newest hospitals and offers a wide range of services including orthopaedics, paediatrics and gynaecology, as well as a number of cosmetic and dental procedures. The hospital has its own swimming pool and most of the staff can speak English to a high standard. Generally considered to be cheaper than the Bangkok Hospital, this facility is also popular with medical tourists who travel to Koh Samui for cheap medical and cosmetic procedures.
Located on the outskirts of Nathon, the Samui Government Hospital is somewhat down the pecking order for foreign tourists who will normally opt to use one of the island’s private hospitals. Although standards here are not up to that of the private hospitals, the government hospital is reasonably well equipped although not to the same extent as other hospitals on the island.
