If you’re looking for evening activities for families, how about heading to a night time pool party? At Typhoon Lagoon, guests can enjoy amazing water park action until late at its H20 Glow Nights. Held on select dates through the summer, the event is packed with splash-tastic surprises such as glowing lights, a DJ-hosted beach party, specially-lit slides and character meet-and-greets. A tempting array of food and drink is on offer, plus there’s an adults-only area featuring entertainment and a bar.

The longest and fastest indoor track in the city, it’s open until 11pm on weekdays and until midnight on weekends. Each race is 8 minutes long on the quarter mile track complete with 8 turns, 3 hairpins, a chicane and The Senna S bend. There’s also a 4-lane bowling alley, a full-service restaurant and an arcade with more than 60 games.
8. Dine in a medieval setting
Dine on delicious food and witness amazing feats at the one-of-a-kind Medieval Times dinner show. Set within a medieval-style castle, the 3-hour show will make you feel as if you’ve gone back in time to 11th-century Spain. The evening starts with a live jousting tournament and classic sword fight during which families can cheer for their favourite knight in shining armour. Afterwards, the castle’s serfs and wenches serve a delicious 4-course banquet.

There are so many great places to go for a relaxing evening stroll in Orlando. A top spot is the charming Disney-built town of Celebration where you can wander around the pretty streets and lake. Some of the best nightlife in Orlando can be found around the buzzing area of Church Street in downtown Orlando. The event is typically held on the second Thursday of each month at Central Park in Winter Park’s downtown district. Also free of charge to get in is Universal’s Citywalk entertainment complex. A mix of shopping, restaurants and entertainment attractions, this is a great place to take the kids for an evening out. The venue has free self-parking after 6pm and is located adjacent to Universal Studios.

If you’re not planning on renting a boat, you can still enjoy an evening at Lake Eola Park without spending a cent. There’s a walkway around the lake for scenic strolls. The park also has a large kids’ playground which is free to use. The onsite Walt Disney Amphitheater hosts many free community events and performances. Don’t forget the nightly light shows around the fountain; they run nightly at around 8pm and 9.30 pm.
