The family pool at Championsgate Orlando
Totally free from steps, the zero-entry family pool at Championsgate is designed to replicate the beach – you can walk slowly into cool blue water at your own pace, rather than jumping straight in.
Kids will be more interested in the whacky playground nearby, where they can splash around under tall fountains and water towers. The main attraction is the 125-foot-high waterslide that twists and turns like a corkscrew before ending with an impressive splash.
Croc’s, the water park’s poolside bar and grill, serves up fresh salads and zingy cocktails daily (weather permitting).
Riding the lazy river
Meandering through the resort for more than 800 ft, the lazy river passes neatly landscaped gardens and rows of happy sunbathers. Along the way, riders float through tunnels and canyons, with the occasional waterfall or spray gun thrown in for good measure. The lazy river at Championsgate is open from 8am–10pm daily.
Kicking back by the formal pool
Adults will love unwinding beside the resort’s elegant formal pool, which is edged by private cabanas. Grab one of these to spend a lazy day reading, sleeping or catching up on your email with the resort’s free wifi. Feeling the heat? Drop into the pool for a few lengths or a cooling float around.
